A Forsyth County, GA, deputy was shot Sunday responding to a domestic dispute, and the suspect took his own life, officials say.
The wounded deputy, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. He suffered gunshot wounds to his legs, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s office SWAT team attempted to negotiate, with assistance from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s office SWAT team, members of North Fulton’s SWAT team, Georgia State Patrol officers and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, AJC.com reports.
However, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s office posted an update at 8:20 p.m. Sunday evening saying that after attempted negotiations, the suspect took his own life.
